What is the ScoliBrace?

The ScoliBrace is an innovative, corrective brace for people diagnosed with scoliosis. This brace supports the transition of the body as the spine moves into proper alignment. Who Are Good Candidates?

What is Scoliosis?

Scoliosis is an unnatural spinal curve that may develop in younger years. Scoliosis is a progressive condition that causes back pain, irregularities in the body, and issues with posture. Although there is a natural curve in the spine when viewed from a side angle, curves caused by scoliosis can be seen when viewed from behind a person. Different types of scoliosis exist, depending on a person’s age, but the most common type is called “adolescent idiopathic scoliosis” (AIS). It is strongly suggested that scoliosis is common in families with a history of the condition, which indicates the possibility that scoliosis can be hereditary and genetic. However, researchers have been unable to identify the specific gene that causes scoliosis.

Scoliosis can occur in both children and adults, as it is not age specific. However, it is initially observed in children between the ages of 3 and 15. Scoliosis can also be detected in infants, but doctors will typically wait to treat babies, so they can observe the development of the spine. Scoliosis can also be caused in adults who suffer from spine degeneration, which usually accompanies old age. Noticeable traits of scoliosis include:
